Finding time to train Martial Arts like Krav Maga, Muay Thai, and MMA is usually the one thing that we can all agree is difficult. Yet we can find time to do many other things that don’t bring us positive results. We have jobs, families, pets, debts, and other responsibilities. I get it. I am fortunate enough to work in a field that requires me to stay healthy. I practice Krav Maga, Muay Thai, MMA, and whatever else is thrown at me where I can learn something new. I lift weights a few days a week too. I am no different than anyone else. I just made a decision to devote myself to a martial artist lifestyle. I did it because I love to train. I love to learn and I love to teach. I love seeing the people around me grow and find success.
If you’ve taken a class or two at Elite Training Center then you’ve most likely heard “habits trained are habits gained” or “repetition creates success.” First things first, YOU and you alone have to make the decision to create a habit. It is your responsibility to carve out the time in order to achieve something you are passionate about. If you don’t find time to take care of yourself, then most likely your business, your home, your relationships are a direct reflection of your health and how you treat your body.
Oddly enough we purchase insurance for our cars, homes, boats, and other miscellaneous material goods. Yet, when it comes down to learning a self-defense system or training to keep ourselves healthy we meet it with trepidation.
Usually, we rationalize our lack of motivation to not having time, experiencing some financial crisis and then convince ourselves that you can’t handle the fiscal responsibility of your health. Get over it! Quit making excuses and find a way.
The choices you make are your’s. The world doesn’t owe you anything. You are strong and capable. I’ve shared so many examples of people overcoming the worst of hardships. We’ve seen amputees complete tough mudders, one armed MMA fighters, one handed major league pitchers, and wheel chair bound men and women who refuse to lose. So stop coming up with excuses as to why you aren’t able to train. Stop complaining about not having the time. You can create a habit in a very little amount of time, but have to follow through on it. Every person has some level of difficulty they experience.
People all over the world will wake up tomorrow and start over. They will start over because it is time to do it. They have had enough of feeling lethargic. They’ve had enough of financial crisis. They’re tired of listening to someone who they hate tell them what to do and not see any future. They will start over because their children need to see a stronger example. They will begin something that challenges them because they know if they don’t start, they never will. They will do it for themselves and become the beacon of light that will inspire those around them to change.
