Please be aware of your surroundings, everyone! This isn’t an isolated incident. If this can happen in Santa Monica, it can happen in the South Bay. Whether you live in Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, Palos Verdes, etc., kidnapping prevention in the south bay must be discussed.
Remember, about a year ago, a few men in Manhattan and Hermosa were doing the same thing. They would pull up next to young women and brazenly grab at them to get them into a van. Then like most violent actions in the South Bay, they have been brushed aside and forgotten. Things like this don’t happen very often where we live. Very often? Very often is enough to get me up out of my seat to share this with as many people as I can.
Elite Training Center‘s ideology is to make our part of Los Angeles County, a community that looks out for each other. It doesn’t matter if you train with us or not. What matters is that we get the word out so people will, at the very minimum, consider keeping a watchful eye. Krav Maga and other reality-based self-defense systems examine these situations. As we always say, your #1 priority is to escape. Hit first, hit last. Use your mind and avoid potentially dangerous circumstances. If you do find yourself there, you have to fight.
Elite‘s myriad of systems using Muay Thai, Kali, BJJ, wrestling, and MMA all work in accordance with Krav Maga. Krav lends itself to a mindset unlike the sport versions that many call upon. In a potential kidnapping situation, everything is fair game.

It should be mentioned that although there are big football games happening now and cute pictures of puppies playing with tennis balls or your favorite superhero saying something relevant to today’s political climate, social media can be of great importance in the prevention of serious, violent threats to our community.
