Martial Arts and the ego. At Elite Training Center we continually instill in our students the importance of egoless training. This is often the most difficult for people to overcome.
Whether Krav Maga, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) or Kali / Silat are your desired disciplines, it is important to just train. With the over ambitious Internet-martial artists, many people go so far out their way to knock down or challenge different systems using YouTube, chat rooms, etc.
Do what you like and make it effective. If someone doesn’t agree with what you truly believe in, do you put your beliefs back in their face? Sure you do. Is it the right thing to do? Nope! Never is. Passion doesn’t understand logic.
Regardless of where or who you train with, just train. Some people are better than others. So what? You want to train with the best? Do your research and find out who and what system suits you best. Don’t be one of those people who sits back running their mouths about who does what system and whether they are qualified. Be conscious and make a decision based on research. All the time spent bad mouthing, there are people training and researching various systems to become what they set out to be, a real martial artist.
