New Year’s Goals

New Year’s Goals

New Year's Goals

The New Year is upon us.  This is a time when fitness gyms and martial arts school experience an influx of new members.  Many looking to start something new for fun, health, weight loss and the thought of wanting to finally learn how to defend oneself.  These are all part of the popular New Year’s Resolutions.

At typical begin for change of behavior takes constancy and positive habits. New Year’s Resolutions will be mostly about working toward new routines and a new schedule of success.  One trick I have always used to reach New Year’s Goals was to write them down and work to team up with something or someone to help me find the right levels of success.

I knew that I needed to do something each day to make progress toward my respected New Year’s Goal.  This is a habit and skill that I feel I learned from my parents, Martial Arts and good mentors.  “Tony move towards your goal each day or you are one step close to the death of it!”  Yes, my first mentor told me this.

You are going to have a lot of ideas for the New Year.  And I am sure many will develop out of them.  Be sure you have a way to remember them.  Team us with someone and something for the little help towards starting the steps towards your goals.  Along the way it will be challenging to revise your schedule(s) and move towards the habits of success; however, this is part of the learning and growth process.  “This year I am going to learning a new language,” you may say.  I say plan a trip to this county and give yourself a reason for the goal.

Teaming up to me should be rooted in a reason and a purpose.  When you have a powerful purpose and reason in what you are doing: The Motivation will be present.  People reading this that have kids relate clearly to this idea.  I am suggesting that over this holiday break relax and reconnect to the things in your life that give you a real mission, drive and reason to write down your New Year’s Goals.  And for those of you that are already living them; pass on your experience and team up with someone that needs the support in their personal journey!
