Define it, Redefine it, Repeat

Have you trained in Krav Maga, Kali / Silat, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or MMA? Have you recognized how similar each system is when its parts are dissected?

At Elite Training Center we focus and encourage all or our students to pursue and become proficient in as many arts as possible. Often times and by no fault of the novice, they wonder “shouldn’t I just focus on 1 martial art to become good at it before I pursue something else?” This is an old way of thinking. This is similar to the belief in the late 80’s and early 90’s that lifting weights would “throw off” your basketball shot. Through research and development it became very apparent that with the implementation of weights and other forms of cross training athleticism soared to new heights.

Had any one of our martial arts purveyors not looked to redefine the martial systems, what we know today would never exist. It is the responsibility of martial arts practitioners to continually push to recreate what is known into something faster, meaner and more efficient.
