Remembrance
Normally I have my blog posts prepared a few days in advance. So when I got up this morning and began getting ready to post, I remembered it just wasn’t another Wednesday. I remembered it was Wednesday, September 11th.
The realization of the date gave me pause…..I remembered this date 12 years ago. Where I was, what I was doing…….and all those innocent people who were killed. Then my thoughts shifted to all of my friends, my bothers in arms that have been killed defending our freedom since that day, to all of the families that have lost their loved ones and to how the fight for our freedom continues today. The irony, that on this particular day, I find myself in the metro DC area continuing to contribute to that fight is not lost on me. In fact, it drives the point home rather well.
So rather than post on one of the familiar topics, I ask all of you to pause and remember. Remember the loss of life on this day 12 years ago, remember the price that has been paid for your freedom and remember to “Never Forget!”.
