Giving back to the community has always been a huge part of Elite’s mission and purpose. This December we are hosting the American Red Cross on December 20th for a blood drive, and we are also collecting unwrapped toys for underprivileged children. The response so far has been overwhelming; we are so fortunate to have students who embrace these opportunities with such tremendous support and enthusiasm! In the South Bay
Elite also has a strong tradition of supporting our military and local law enforcement. Currently we have an opportunity to contribute comfort items to military women serving overseas through a local group sending a shipment in a few weeks. The women have requested things like nice smelling lotions, shampoo, conditioner, and soaps. Also items such as romance novels and women’s magazines…even comfort clothing like old sports bras and loungewear. If you have any of these items and would be willing to donate them please drop them in the box in the women’s locker room or have someone do it for you. It’s difficult to be so far from home and loved ones, and anything we can do to make their deployments a bit more comfortable is much appreciated! There is so much we can do to give back and help others, both locally and globally. Everyone is capable of helping in some way, whether by donating money, items, blood, or time. Martial arts is about improving lives…not only your own but the lives of those around you. Be sure to find some way to reach out this holiday season in the South Bay and beyond!
