This week after the Claudia “Claudinha” Gadelha SoCal MMA & Grappling Camps last weekend at Elite Training Center, I joked that the winners were the ones that showed up. Not every day, you have a high-level professional female fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and a 3x World Jiu-Jitsu Champion at your home academy to teach Mixed Martial Arts, Jiu-Jitsu, and examples of excellence in teaching methodology. Before the event, I was expressing the idea that the time to act is now because there isn’t always a next time and time to do it later in one’s life. All the attendees that watched Claudinha teach or for all the involved training on the mats spoke very highly of the experience. In Social Media, many people contacted me and wished they could be there and learn from her. One mother told me she searched Claudia Gadelha and was shocked at what she has done with her career so far. I only stated that Claudinha is just getting started.
Aside from the very cool techniques and strategies learned at the seminars, these events were sponsored by The SoCal Women’s BJJ Open Mat, UNITED (Helping survivors of Domestic violence and sexual assault), BJJ Legends Magazine, Dream Jiu-Jitsu Tournaments, Elite Training Center, Connection Rio, and Soulfight.net. So, in the end, it was great to be doing something other than martial arts and helping others in a group like UNITED!
I was impressed with Claudia’s technical knowledge, application of the different aspects of MMA, and passion for Jiu-Jitsu. We learned a lot in a short time. Thank you, Claudia!
