Thank you to all the parents who put their trust in Elite Training Center’s Youth CMMA (Combative Mixed Martial Arts) Program. Without you, our program wouldn’t flourish.
Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Western Style Boxing, Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Japanese Jiu Jitsu, Kali / Silat, Muay Thai Kickboxing all play roles in our systems. We developed them with your children in mind. This all encompassing system blends what we know to be the most important aspects of self defense, fitness and MMA.
It is important for young people to have an outlet both physically and mentally. Martial arts attracts various types of people. Within our youth program we have children of every ethnicity, body type, and fitness level. The most important thing at Elite Training Center is to be sure that the youth are being cultivated to take what they learn on the mat, not only the physical side and apply it to their everyday lives, but the mental side as well. Being able to push people in a positive direction isn’t always easy when their are so many negative things being shot their way i.e. bullies and bullying, drugs, violence against others, and junk food on every corner.
We as a society have strayed from the path that martial arts once put forth. Our “go go go” attitude, our reliance on technology to get things quick, and a focus on proper nutrition have been set to the side. Children will follow in the footsteps of their elders and then their peers. If we are to set the example, we must understand to raise leaders, we must show them what is the healthiest way of life. The focus of winning, being 1st at all costs, sacrificing health and fitness to achieve material goods are what people deem most important today. There is no sense of community. It is just work, work, work. When does it stop? It can stop when we decide that the future of our country must be stronger, smarter and healthier than what we are seeing today. I will never have children, but I will teach them. I won’t raise children, but I will guide them.
Martial arts training is about the work put in. The most important lessons it can teach are discipline and patience. Becoming a martial artist at a young age can lead to so many great things further in life. It teaches young people how to focus on goals, long term and short term. It teaches how to prepare with the right approach and live consciously. We must respect our young people by showing them what is right. We must guide them by being the example.
